Biography
- After successfully selling out the launch of her debut EP, Drawing Midnight, Sydney-based singer/songwriter, Chelsea Gibson has been receiving praise for her image-filled melodies on piano and voice. With community radios all over Australia playing her lilting tune Equinox, including Sydney's own FBi; Chelsea has also been aided by the Bondi Pavilion's Emerging Artist Scheme in independently releasing her EP and continuing to record her upcoming album. After writing towards the CarriageWorks Singer/Songwriter Mentoring Program, Chelsea has recently performed and recorded with a choir of 150 youth, coming together with the Sydney Children's Festival. In addition to this, Chelsea has also been short-listed for Pie Face's top 50 in their Pie Jam/Katie Noonan Singer/Songwriters Competition.
Drawing from Swedish fiction, unspoken experience, photographs and vintage silhouettes, Chelsea's brand of indie-folk melodies drift over like a cool breeze on a sultry night.

- Chelsea has played at many great Sydney venues including: The Vanguard, The Basement, CarriageWorks, Colbourne Ave, Music For Trees, the Cat & The Fiddle, the El Rocco Room (formerly BarMe), The Roxbury, Kelly's On King, The Union Hotel, and Fitzroy Palace.
Having supported and played alongside acoustic, folk & country artists such as Packwood, arbori:, Cody Dillon, The Sydney Children's Festival Choir, Alisa Fedele, Hazzy Bee, Robert Alexander, Henderson Road Society Club, Bonic, Renee Jonas, Buck & Deanne, Matt Gerber, and Natasha-Eloise; Chelsea has also been featured in many Songsalive! Showcases. Placing 1st in two heats and the Semi-Finals & 2nd in the Grand-Finals for the Kelly’s On King Singer/Songwriter Competition.

- Shall be playing with The Campervan Dancers this Friday at The Gladstone Hotel (115 Regent St Chippendale). 8pm start, $10, supporting two wonderful bands from Wollongong- The Pennys and Blueberry Curcuit! With the beautiful Elise Carpio on violin, effervescent Luke Midworth on banjo, groovy David Mormul on bass, myself on glock & tambo, and fun-lovin Ryan Collings on guitar & kick...we'll be singing up a storm!!!...with maybe a few sneaky covers in there too :) Tunes kick off at 8:30pm and it's free, so come gimme a hug-hello!! xx

- Hey you! I've had a loverly run of gigs the past few weeks :) the most recent being the 'Women & Song' night at The Roxbury- which was fantastic. Now the pinnacle gig of the season is fast approaching, next SAT 19TH we'll be getting our home movie on with the Super 8 Projector Picnic! Including music from the likes of Packwood, arbori:, Sam Newton, & myself; just bring your picnic rug, a basket of nibbles, and come hang on the Fitzroy Palace lawn!
